Skipping

Room 18 has been skipping this week.
We have been doing rock skipping which is when you rock with your feet while you're skipping. (MO) We have been learning to skip backwards, it's a bit tricky for some of us. (EC) We have been skipping and saying the ABCs at the same time. (NT) This shows how much you can skip, when you stop you see which letter you landed on and then try to get better. (DM) Rhymes like "Lady, Lady at the Gate" are fun to sing while you skip and "Helicopter Helicopter please come down". (HN) Today we were doing buddy skipping where you skip with one rope for two people. (MO) All of us have been practicing and we are getting better! (GM)

Jewel's Babies!!!

On the 20th of May Miss D. got a surprise when Jewel had babies! When the babies were born they looked like pink jellybeans (DM), they were very little (DK), they could not see because their eyes were closed (HN), and they drink their mother's milk. We were very excited when we saw them. (NG)

When the babies were a week old they had grown a little bit bigger (MO).

When they were one and a half weeks old they had grown a little bit of fur and one of the baby mice opened one eye. (ML)

The mice are now two weeks old and they look like their mum. (GM) They have white fur and have opened their pink eyes. (EC) They are very wiggly when we hold them. (SP) Their eyes look like little tiny Jewels. (TM) Their paws are really tickly. (GM) Their tail is longer now but really thin. (MO, ML)

We know that we need to be careful with them because they are fragile. (GB, HN) We love our baby mice and we think they are really cute!!

Running Wheel

We got given a running wheel and Jewel and Sparkles like to run in it. (TM) Sparkles really likes to run fast in it. (ML, SP, NG, HN)

Sparkles

On the 18th of May, we got another mouse and we called her Sparkles. (KM) Sparkles is a brown mouse but she looks black. (DM) We named her Sparkles because she has sparkly eyes. (SP)

Jewel

This is Jewel. We got her on Monday the 16th of May. She is white and she has pink eyes. We named her Jewel because her eyes look like Jewels.

Our Class Treaty

This is our class treaty. We all talked about how to make our class a great place to be in this year. We all agreed to follow our treaty, we signed our names.
